I am Maddie Moreland, a recent graduate from Pepperdine University with a BA in Integrated Marketing and Communications and a minor in Entrepreneurship. My passion lies at the intersection of fashion, art, design, and innovative marketing strategies.
Currently, I am a Public Relations Intern at LDR22, where I conduct creative research, measure social media engagement, and manage client inventory. Previously, I served as an Executive Assistant at Douglas Elliman, where I managed contracts and marketing for over $55M in sales, spearheaded advertising campaigns, and coordinated high-profile real estate events.
I have a solid foundation in crafting compelling narratives and visuals, developed through my academic projects, such as an advertising campaign for Lululemon, a conceptual brand project — TWIG — in Communication Graphics, and a comprehensive Marketing plan for Alterra Mountain Company's Ikon Pass. My coursework has equipped me with skills in advertising media, marketing research, and international marketing.
In addition to my professional experience, I have been involved in various activities and programs, including Alpha Phi and Nordstrom Fashion Ambassador Program. I was also in a Spanish Immersion Program K-12, allowing me to develop bilingual language skills. My skills span project management, email marketing, client relations, and proficiency in tools like Adobe Creative Cloud, FashionGPS, and Microsoft Office.
I am excited to build a strong network and explore opportunities that allow me to leverage my creativity and strategic thinking. Let's connect!
By taking ceramics for all four years of high school as well as at Pepperdine, it has taught me how to express my thoughts, emotions, and ideas in a nontraditional way. My experience with the Nordstrom Fashion Ambassador Program has given me further insight into how business plays an integral role in the fashion industry. Lastly, I have even held a position at Douglas Elliman, dealing with both logistical coordination and client relations/development and the marketing aspect, where I was able to apply acquired skills from foundational classes taken at Pepperdine. Some of these are outlined in the Academic Projects section, and another noteworthy one to mention is the Media Plan Book that was developed for a "potential" client, Lululemon, that details the situational analysis, media objectives, and media strategies and tactics.
I think I have multiple visions that are unfolding in real time. Each work in my portfolio represents different aesthetics, especially depending on the story or message that must be told. Essentially, my vision seeks to find creative and interactive mediums of evoking a certain emotion or telling a specific message to the audience, whether it is through tangible art such as ceramics and photography, or centralized on the internet and heavily relies on Adobe Suite.
